Chapter 11 Do you have no shame?
Chapter 11 Do you have no shame?
Before even entering the Adventurers' Guild, Terra could see the cheering NPCs gathered together through the wall, which made him feel particularly happy. He liked the lively atmosphere of the NPCs.
However, the moment Terra and Andrea stepped into the guild hall, the NPCs suddenly fell silent and stared at them.
Terra looked up with a question mark: "Keep the music playing and keep dancing!"
Nobody responded.
Beside her, Andrea 1 deliberately put one hand on her hip, puffed out her chest, and posed with a cold and aloof air as she surveyed the human adventurers in the room.
But soon, she noticed something was wrong. Why were there smiles mixed in with those gazes directed at her?
Oh, I understand.
Andrea nodded to herself. She must be so excited to see such an elegant and pure elf for the first time. Understandable; after all, she seemed like a rare and wonderful girl.
Andrea has selectively forgotten about crying in the street, burying her head in the sand and believing that if she forgets it, others won't remember either.
This is her defensive strategy to protect her vulnerable heart.
After observing for half a minute at the door, Andrea 1 gracefully strode towards the reception desk next to the task board in the lobby, and Terra followed.
The reason Andrea didn't go to the counter immediately was because it took her a while to figure out where it was. Asking a human for such a small question would be too embarrassing.
The little girl's comment, "Do elves know so much?" has stayed with her to this day.
At this moment, Mana, dragging her robes, took the initiative to come over, her gaze scrutinizing Terra: "Young man, your body is so strange. Is that clothing or skin on you?" As she said this, she deliberately glanced at the elf.
Mana overheard what the old adventurer said while they were playing darts. As a fellow mage, she wanted to see what kind of guy he was, who claimed to "kill" people with magic as soon as he entered the city.
But after getting closer, Mana became increasingly puzzled by Terra's appearance. The blocks on his body were cut with sharp angles and were all made of the same material. The only way to distinguish them was by the different colors of the blocks, which were his face, hair, and clothes.
She could tell at a glance that Terra wasn't human!
Based on her deduction, this cube-shaped person looked exactly like some kind of magic doll.
But can a doll achieve this level of precision? And why make it square?
Terra, realizing she wasn't wearing armor either, said, "I'm just a blank slate, you could call it skin."
The sorceress Mana feigned surprise and exclaimed, "Wow~ How daring!"
Terra didn't reply, but instead observed the mage. He tried to open the mage's chat window, but it wouldn't sell anything.
A crying face bubble appeared above Terra's head. He had thought this giant scholar NPC was the new version of the mage.
Sure enough, the NPCs behind the Wall of Flesh can't just move to the front of the meat.
Terra moved the cursor over her, displaying the name: "Mana".
Mana was annoyed that Terra had just controlled her with some kind of magic, but when she heard Terra say her name, she shuddered.
Is it a divination technique?
"Hey, hey, hey, are you deliberately showing off your magic to provoke me?" Mana said this while facing Andrea 1.
Just then, a female adventurer passed by Andrea, patted her on the shoulder and greeted her, and was about to leave the guild, but before she could even step out the door, Terra suddenly walked towards her.
Mana: "Hey! You ran away?"
However, what happened next made Mana cover her mouth in surprise.
Because, to the astonishment of Mana and the others, Terra brandished her bronze pickaxe and relentlessly attacked the adventurer, oblivious to everyone else.
The female adventurer's clothes were ripped apart, her skin was covered in red welts, and she kept begging for mercy before collapsing to the floor of the hall, her blood quickly staining the wooden floor and the tables and chairs.
An item was dropped and was absorbed into Terra's body.
Andrea thought to herself, "Terra has started again."
At first, she didn't realize Terra had killed someone, until she waited quite a while and the dead adventurer didn't reappear. Only then did she realize what had happened.
Is their fate unknown? That means they're dead.
Why did Terra kill this adventurer?
Just then, Terra said to Andrea, "Guide, it has stolen a few of your arrows."
"Huh?"
Andrea, in a daze, walked to the corpse and found that there were indeed several arrows.
Terra opened the creature encyclopedia to view information about the enemy she had just encountered:
[The Painter Thief]
[Killed: 1]
[Environment: Forest, Town]
[Drops: 3 of each color dye]
[Just a pitiful art student.]
Yes, that dropped item is dye. Terra discovered that the dye has an ammo icon in the new version, even though it was just for decoration before.
Dye can be used as ammunition… The only thing Terra can think of is the paintball gun dropped by the painter NPC. Didn't the old version of the paintball gun have unlimited ammo without needing to be reloaded?
Terra was somewhat looking forward to seeing what kind of interaction the paintball gun dropped by the artist NPC would have with the dye.
But for now, let's just drag the dye into the decorations section.
To everyone's astonishment, Terra's body suddenly changed from colorful to pure white.
It feels like a sculpture by a marble sculptor.
Andrea stared blankly at Terra, but pretended to be used to it since they were in front of humans.
More importantly, compared to Terra killing people, changing color is no longer important.
The adventurers were on high alert, taking up their weapons and aiming them at Terra.
As Terra watched the NPCs turn their swords and spears against her, a bubble of disappointment appeared above her head.
"I thought everyone was a kind NPC, but it turns out they are all like 'Lost Girl,' disguised as NPCs, but revealing their true forms as soon as you get close."
"The new version is quite malicious, actually releasing these kinds of monsters in towns where monsters don't spawn."
Terra glanced at the dwarf Ori and thought, "There are even short, round boulders disguised as NPCs? That's so wicked. No wonder it's Red."
Terra only knew that she was about to go on a killing spree.
As the atmosphere reached a stalemate, the old adventurer stepped forward.
"That corpse's face... isn't she that artist who was released from prison before? Didn't she come here to be an adventurer recently?"
A well-read adventurer stepped forward to examine the corpse's face and discovered that it really did seem to be her.
Mana examined the body, pulled out a small wallet, opened it, glanced at it, and shouted, "Has anyone lost money?"
A timid girl's voice came from behind the crowd.
"I... my wallet is gone, a blue one... there was 1 silver coin and 23 copper coins inside."
Everyone turned around and saw a petite girl holding a summoning staff, her hand trembling as she raised it.
Mana clicked her tongue, walked over, and shoved the wallet into her arms: "Be more careful next time. Nobody here will put up with a piece of trash like you."
The girl was forced to look up at the monk, timidly peering at half of his face over the towering peaks, before taking the wallet.
She quickly opened her purse, intending to take out some money as a reward for Mana, and the rest of the money would be enough to last her for a few more days.
However, there were 10 extra silver coins in the purse that hadn't been there before.
The girl wanted to say something, but was startled by Mana's glare and lowered her head.
Mana returned to the corpse and spat, "To think it could still be alive, what a failure as a painter, and even more so as an adventurer."
Mana viewed this elf differently on every level.
She turned to the elf and apologized for being somewhat rude.
The elf didn't understand why this human had to apologize to her; shouldn't he apologize to Terra?
It's good that there was no conflict with the adventurers.
Andrea coughed lightly and said in a pretentious tone, "I accept."
Terra discovered that these enemies had suddenly turned back into friendly NPCs. Although he didn't understand this new mechanic, he still happily went over and patted Mana's head.
"Want to fight? Even elves can't do everything!"
Laughter erupted around them, and everyone applauded Terra.
"Are you kidding me!"
Suddenly, a slender adventurer rushed out from the crowd. "She probably has some kind of trouble! That saintess forced her to become an adventurer, cannon fodder. What can we do?!"
"How many of you actually bought her paintings? What are you pretending to be righteous for now!" The adventurer who suddenly appeared pointed at the corpse on the ground.
The lizardman Ragon stepped out from the crowd and looked down at him: "Indeed, it's reasonable for an artist who's so poor she can't afford to eat to steal money, right? You can't exactly tell her to be kind while she's starving."
The artist's companion seemed to have found support: "Right, then..."
"But," the lizardman changed the subject, "even if one's initial intentions were pitiful, it doesn't mean that mistakes should be forgiven. If a pitiful person does something hateful, then that person is hateful."
"What's wrong with this blocky guy carrying out justice in his own way? You can call it violence if you want; this is how we adventurers survive."
"They could make a living through lottery events, and there are teams that would love to recruit artists, so why do they have to steal elf arrows to exchange for money? Are they just stealing a little girl's meager savings?"
Ragon turned to Terra, trying to say, "Right, buddy?"
"Huh? I just wanted to kill him."
"Hey, I've already prepared a reason for you, so why don't you just say something?" The lizardman couldn't help but facepalm.
The painter's companion turned pale, just as the parrot entered with two guards, intending to take him away.
The adventurer's chest heaved as he finally roared and charged toward Terra.
Before anyone could react, Terra had already swung his pickaxe at them.
Andrea drew her bowstring taut, aimed the arrow at the adventurer, and delivered a fatal blow.
Soon, another painter's corpse appeared on the ground.
Terra got three more green dyes, but this color wasn't good, so Terra didn't put it in the armor's dyeing section.
The union's receptionist quickly negotiated with the guards.
Lagon leaned closer: "Hey buddy, you're pretty good. Why don't you join our team?"
Andrea felt a chill run down her spine.
"I've already teamed up with Director Xiang."
The elf tiptoed almost imperceptibly.
Ragon raised an eyebrow, his gaze darting back and forth between the elf and the blocky man, and chuckled, "Oh~ it seems I'm clueless. May I ask what your relationship is?"
Terra pondered for a moment, then suddenly realized.
"She is the guide who led me to save the world, I call her Mom."
