Chapter 447 Returning to the 4th Courtyard with Talk and Laughter
He Yushui walked out of the door of the broadcasting room and headed outside the office building. The sunlight shone through the sparse clouds onto her slightly nervous face. Her brows were slightly furrowed, and a hint of imperceptible complex emotions flashed in her eyes.
Her pace unconsciously quickened, as if she was running away from something, until a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Yushui, how come you walked so fast? You walked past me without even noticing me.”
He Yuzhu walked out of a corner of the office building quickly, with his usual warm smile on his face, but then he noticed that something was wrong with his sister, and his smile became more concerned. He took a few steps forward while speaking, trying to get closer to his sister.
He Yushui stopped and turned around a little stiffly. His gaze stayed on He Yuzhu's face for a moment, with a look of confusion and a bit of resentment.
She sighed softly. Although her expression had not completely relaxed, her tone had already added a calmness that she tried to suppress: "Brother, Yu Haitang is waiting for you in the broadcasting room. Go quickly."
After saying that, she lowered her head slightly, avoiding He Yuzhu's inquiring gaze. When she turned around, her shoulders trembled slightly, as if she was suppressing some emotion.
Seeing this, He Yuzhu became even more confused. He looked at his sister's departing back, and a trace of worry flashed in his eyes.
He did not leave immediately, but stood where he was, following He Yushui's gradually receding figure until she disappeared around the corner. Then he slowly withdrew his gaze, frowning as if he was thinking about something.
Then, He Yuzhu walked into the broadcasting room with a lot of questions in his mind. The light in the room was soft and the air was filled with a faint scent of ink.
Yu Haitang was sorting out the documents on the table with her head down, occasionally looking out the window, with a hint of expectation in her eyes. When she heard the door open, she immediately turned around and saw He Yuzhu, with a gentle smile on her face.
"Haitang, are you done packing?" He Yuzhu asked softly, taking natural steps towards where Yu Haitang was.
His eyes revealed an unusual concern for his sister He Yushui, and his brows were slightly furrowed, as if trying to find a clue from Yu Haitang.
"By the way, do you know what happened to Yu Shui today? I think she doesn't look very well."
Upon hearing this, Yu Haitang stopped what she was doing, looked up at He Yuzhu, with a gentle smile on her face, but a hint of confusion in her eyes.
"It's okay," she shook her head gently, with a hint of comfort in her tone, "We talked for a few minutes after get off work, she looked the same as usual, I didn't notice anything wrong."
Hearing this, He Yuzhu frowned even more tightly and scratched his head. This action revealed his inner confusion and helplessness.
He knew very well that women's minds were delicate and unpredictable, especially when faced with subtle changes among family members, which made him feel powerless.
"Oh, women's hearts are like needles in the sea, really hard to understand." He murmured to himself in a low voice. Although his voice was small, it was loud enough for Yu Haitang beside him to hear clearly.
Upon hearing this, Yu Haitang smiled slightly. She gently patted He Yuzhu's arm, her eyes full of understanding and encouragement.
"Don't worry too much. Rain might have run into some minor troubles. It will be fine after a while. Let's go back first. I've packed up."
He Yuzhu's thoughts were like ripples on a lake brushed by the breeze. Just as he was about to speak, his questions about He Yuzhu's abnormality were gently brushed away by Yu Haitang's gentle words, like a drizzle in spring, moistening everything silently.
He was stunned for a moment, then the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously, and he completely forgot the topic he wanted to continue discussing.
He took a step forward naturally, almost instinctively protecting Yu Haitang, and walked out of the broadcasting room step by step, heading towards home.
Along the way, the two of them whispered occasionally, and their laughter floated gently in the breeze, like the most beautiful melody, adding a bit of warmth and sweetness to this quiet evening.
He Yuzhu rode the bicycle that carried countless memories, with Yu Haitang leaning against him on the back seat. Their figures gradually faded away in the afterglow of the setting sun, leaving only a string of laughter that echoed in the air for a long time.
Back in the courtyard, the familiar sound of bicycles and the voices of the two echoed in the yard, like a signal for returning home.
