Chapter 425 Fang Dafang 2's Happiness

Chapter 425 Fang Dafang 2's Happiness

Wen Luozhi glanced at Lang Batian; this must be the person he had gone after.

"I didn't do anything wrong, can you let me go now?"

Wei Yi, lying on the ground, was already quite pale, after all, he had bled and had been outside all night.

Wen Luozhi tossed him a bottle of medicine, then, remembering that his voice had been nasal earlier, tossed him another bottle.

"Go wherever you want. My child isn't someone anyone can steal."

Upon hearing that she had released Wei Yi, Fang Da and Fang Er untied him and gave him a thumbs-up, saying, "You're a real man!"

Fang Er picked up the small porcelain bottle from the ground and said with a grin, "This should be the medicine Grandpa gave you."

He looked at Wen Luozhi and heard her nod and say, "The larger one is for treating wounds, and the smaller one is for treating colds; take one pill each in the morning, noon, and evening."

Wei Yi took the gift in a daze. This was the first time someone had praised him and the first time someone had cared about his life or death.

Even though they were the ones who caused his condition...

"Thank you...thank you," he said awkwardly and somewhat resentfully, then limped away with the medicine in his pocket.

Fang Er felt a pang of pity watching his retreating figure. Wen Luozhi said, "Go if you want to, but come back soon."

"Hey!" Fang Er responded happily and helped Wei Yi up, then recounted how they had been frightened one night.

"Last time, I stole a cornbread from the Li family, and you scared me like that..."

As the two walked away, Fang Da's stomach began to rumble.

"Harmful……"

"Sir, what kind of work do you need? Just give me the task."

Wen Luozhi pointed to the bundle of firewood that Granny Mi had brought over yesterday, "Chop it up, use it for cooking."

She got up and walked to the kitchen, while Fang Da scratched his head and picked up a knife to chop firewood.

After starting the fire, Wen Luozhi came over carrying a large basket of ingredients, which included ready-made wonton wrappers and fillings that would be used immediately, as well as some vegetables that would be used for cooking today.

Fang Da stared wide-eyed, but only glanced at it once more before looking away.

He focused on tending the fire, while Wen Luozhi quickly made a wonton. The aroma of chicken soup simmering in the pot soon wafted out.

Once the soup is ready, the wontons are also cooked. Scoop the wontons into a bowl with chicken broth, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and the whole kitchen smells delicious.

Fang Da stood up and was about to leave when Wen Luozhi stopped him, saying, "Where are you going? You still have chores to do after you finish eating."

Fang Da turned around and looked at her in surprise. Wen Luozhi then pointed to the largest bowl, "You eat from that bowl, and save the one next to it for Fang Er."

After she finished speaking, she picked up her bowl and left. Fang Da stood there, staring blankly at the two bowls of wontons full of chicken for a while.

"Heh...hehe," he suddenly chuckled, picked up his bowl, and started eating in the kitchen.

He didn't know what the thing in the bowl was called, but the thin dough was filled with a lot of meat, and inside the meat were round, yellow, crunchy bits. One bite, soaked in chicken soup, was incredibly satisfying.

Fang Er returned halfway through his meal. When he saw Fang Da, his eyes lit up, and he asked, "Grandpa said he saved breakfast for me. Where is it?"

Seeing what was in the large bowl, he licked his lips and rubbed his hands together expectantly.

It smells so good! He smelled it as soon as he walked in, but he didn't know what good stuff it was.

Fang Da barely managed to free up one finger to point at the stove, and Fang Er turned his head and saw a large bowl full of food.

There was a lot of meat and vegetables in it, and scallions floated on the clear soup, which smelled delicious.

It wasn't so hot anymore, so he picked it up and drank a few sips of the soup. The warm chicken soup made him feel alive again as soon as it entered his stomach.

"Waaaaah, Fang Da! Xiang is so cool!"

He sighed, picked up his chopsticks, and started scooping up wontons. He ate several before slowing down and biting into one.

The wontons are half crab meat and half pork and shrimp meat, and the main feature is that they have thin skin and a lot of filling.

Fang Er ate a few more, panting, and then stopped and said, "My goodness, where did you buy this? Does this desolate town have such good stuff?"

Fang Da finally finished his bowl of food and wanted to answer him, but he let out several burps in a row.

"This was made by our grandfather himself."

"Hurry up and finish eating so we can get back to work."

After he finished speaking, he got up, washed his bowl and put it away, then picked up the broom next to the stove and began to sweep.

Shocked, Fang Er quickened his pace, finishing his food and cleaning up together.

After cleaning inside and out, Wen Luozhi had tidied up everything. Seeing Fang Da and Fang Er, she tossed an apple to each of them, saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."

"Let's go! Let's set off!"

Fang Da and Fang Er exchanged a glance at the apples in their hands. Helian Zhiyan walked past them with a grin and said, "Uncle Da Er, eat up! It'll keep you healthy."

She ran after Wen Luozhi, and Fang Da and Fang Er shouted in unison, "Wait for us, Master!"

Not being familiar with the town, Wen Luozhi had Fang Da and the others lead the way for a short walk. It wasn't exactly a small town, but after a whole morning, they hadn't even covered half of it.

It was lunchtime, but Wen Luozhi decided to go back to eat.

There wasn't much outside that she would be interested in; everything was either expensive or ordinary.

As she passed by the noodle stall from yesterday, the owner recognized her immediately and greeted her warmly, "Sir, come and have a seat! I'll give you a discount on the noodles today!"

She shouted and tried to come out to pull people away, but Fang Da and Fang Er blocked Wen Luozhi's way.

"Oh dear, what are you doing?" the proprietress said somewhat awkwardly.

Wen Luozhi took a step to the side and smiled, "I'd like to eat something different today. Let's come again next time."

"The proprietress's business is booming."

After saying that, Helian Zhiyan grabbed her sleeve and quickly left, afraid that the proprietress would try to force a sale, since she had just shown that intention.

"Tch! If you don't want to eat, then don't eat! Who cares!" The proprietress tossed the dishcloth aside and went inside, continuing to serve other passersby, selling as many bowls as she could.

After walking a bit further away, Fang Er said indignantly, "Don't go to her house, sir! Her family is the worst swindlers!"

Fang Da chimed in, saying that when they first arrived here, they had seen her cheat people while begging for food, and later they even got into a fight with that person over the price of a bowl of noodles.

"Almost no one in town eats at her stall; there's too little meat and it's expensive."

Wen Luozhi nodded knowingly, turned around and looked at them, asking, "Do you two want to make money?"

She spoke seriously and didn't seem to be joking, so the two brothers also became serious.

"What do you mean by this, sir? Who doesn't want to make money?"

"But it's not that simple. It's not something that can be accomplished just by moving your lips."

Fang sighed. They were struggling to even afford food and clothing, how could they possibly earn money?

Besides, this is a desolate town, and there aren't many wealthy families here. Who are we going to make money off of?

Wen Luozhi smiled and patted his shoulder: "I must have an idea to ask you that. Let's go back and have dinner first, then we'll talk about it."

Fang Da and Fang Er were a little confused, so they followed behind her and told her what they knew about the town.

Once inside, Wen Luozhi cooked, Fang Er assisted, and Fang Da was still the one tending the fire.

I got back late for lunch, so I could only eat something simple. Wen Luozhi made a big pot of curry rice, with a little potato, but almost as much chicken and beef as rice.

Fang Da and Fang Er were happily bubbling with joy as they chewed on a piece of meat from their bowls.

After eating and resting for a while, Wen Luozhi called them over.

"Even if I take you back, you'll still need to live. Instead of figuring out how to make a living once you get to where you're going, you should seize the time and opportunities to earn money now."
