The anti-Qing movement began with the looting of the Eight-Nation Alliance.

Chapter 107 Russian Military Scum

Chapter 107 Russian Military Scum

Zhang Tieniu ran to the soldier who had just been knocked down and called out twice, "Xiao An, Xiao An."

Unfortunately, Xiao An had been shot in the chest, and blood was gushing from a fist-sized hole. He was already dead!

Zhang Tieniu sighed, then picked up his gun and chased after them. The soldiers of the second platoon followed him in.

Gunfire and explosions erupted on the other side of the military camp, clearly indicating that a regiment had also stormed in!

By daybreak, key positions in the Russian military camp had been largely controlled by the 1st and 2nd Regiments.

Only one concrete building was still spewing bullets outwards, and dozens of soldiers had already fallen in front of it.

"Bring me a few 75mm cannons!" Second Regiment Commander Wu Chuan shouted angrily.

This two-story reinforced concrete building is very sturdy; it couldn't be breached by a Type 57 mortar.

Soon, four 75mm mountain guns were brought over, their dark muzzles pointed at the small building. Just as Wu Chuan was about to order the shelling, the gunfire inside the building stopped. A white flag appeared out of a window.

"Surrender now! Too late, open fire!" Wu Chuan roared.

"Stop, Commander! Have you forgotten the Marshal's orders?" The Chief of Staff rushed over.

"Me! Ugh!" Wu Chuan kicked the wall hard in anger.

"Make them throw their guns out and raise their hands!" the chief of staff ordered.

Soon, a Chinese man carrying a white flag walked over from the small building with an officer.

"Lieutenant Colonel Gorsky of the Russian Imperial Army surrenders to you and hopes that our surrendered officers and soldiers will receive humane treatment!" the Chinese translator, holding a white flag, said tremblingly.

"You're Chinese, how dare you be a traitor? Leading the Russians around!" Wu Chuan ignored the driver and turned to glare fiercely at the translator.

"My lord, I... I had no choice! I..." The translator trembled with fear.

"Commander, please say less!" The chief of staff shook his head helplessly. These translators will be very useful to the new army in the future; don't be frightened.

"Tell him we accept their surrender! And we're willing to treat them humanely," the chief of staff said, turning to the translator.

The Russian officer mumbled something else in English! "Lieutenant Colonel Gorsky wants to know what kind of army you are?" the translator quickly said.

“We are the Second Regiment of the First Division of the Shandong New Army!” the chief of staff said, raising his chin.

The Russian officer mumbled something in English again, then bowed and raised his sword with both hands.

"Lieutenant Colonel Gorsky said your army is very strong, unlike other Qing troops. He is honored to surrender to you!" the translator continued.

"Give it to me! Did you think I'd let you off the hook just because you flattered me?" Wu Chuan impatiently reached out and grabbed the sword.

"Tell him to immediately have the other Russian troops lay down their weapons and surrender. We guarantee their safety!" the chief of staff said, shaking his head.

Soon, under Gorsky's orders, large numbers of Russian soldiers emerged from each room.

"Go and call the new recruits in the back to come in and clean up the battlefield and escort the prisoners!" the chief of staff ordered the messenger beside him.

Soon a large group of new recruits came in with rifles and began to assist in escorting prisoners and cleaning up the battlefield.

Seeing the large amount of blood on the ground and the corpses scattered everywhere, many people turned pale with fright.

"You're scared of this little bit of blood and corpses? How are you going to go to the battlefield in the future?" Chen San said nonchalantly.

Although he was also in the supply battalion, he was one of the first veterans to join and had participated in bandit suppression for several months, so he had seen a lot of battles. In front of these new recruits, he was considered to have some seniority.

The surrendered prisoners were quickly gathered together, numbering about three or four hundred. Just as they were being counted, Regiment Commander Shen Daowu, accompanied by his guards, walked over with a broad smile.

"Old Wu, looks like things are getting intense on your end? Apparently, quite a few casualties, huh? Hehe!" The words were meant to be caring, but Wu Chuan found them incredibly grating!

"Hmph! What can I do? This is the Russian command post! Those bastards put up a stubborn resistance; I almost blasted them into the air with a cannon. Too bad this kid surrendered in the end!"

"I wonder if the commander-in-chief likes this sword?" Wu Chuan picked up the ornate sword inlaid with gold and silver, shook his head and said.

Shen Daowu was so angry at her smug look that he gritted his teeth!

Although these regimental commanders usually get along quite well, they all want to show off!

"Regimental Commander, Chief of Staff, please go and take a look!" a company commander reported as he approached.

"What's the matter?" Wu Chuan asked in surprise.

"You'll see when you go and see for yourselves!" The company commander gritted his teeth.

Wu Chuan and the chief of staff exchanged a glance, then followed the company commander to a secluded storeroom. Inside, corpses were piled up haphazardly.

Upon closer inspection, they were all women's corpses. Each one was naked, and their bodies were covered in wounds.

"I'm going to kill these beasts!" Wu Chuan shouted angrily, pulled out his pistol, and turned to leave.

"Commander!" The chief of staff quickly reached out and grabbed him.

"No one is going to stop me today, I'm going to kill them all!" Wu Chuan roared.

"Wu Chuan, who are you going to kill?" Just as the chief of staff was in a dilemma, Shen Lian walked over with Nie Gongting.

"General!" The men immediately stood at attention and saluted.

"What's going on?" Shen Lian returned the salute, asking with a stern face. He had just issued a strict order, and this Wu Chuan dared to disobey.

"General, see for yourself!" Wu Chuan and the other man led Shen Lian and the others to the door of the house.

Shen Lian knew what was going on after taking a couple of glances, and his eye twitched involuntarily.

"Bring the leader of the prisoners here!" Shen Lian said coldly.

Gorsky was quickly brought over. Seeing the gold star on Shen Lian's shoulder, he stood at attention and saluted.

"Who did it?" Shen Lian asked expressionlessly.

Gorsky glanced around the room and mumbled something in his speech.

Translation: "General, Lieutenant Colonel Gore said that such things are unavoidable during wartime, please forgive him."

"Unavoidable, huh? Drag all these beasts out and execute them!" Shen Lian nodded and said calmly.

Seeing the translator trembling with fear, Gorsky knew it was bad news. He quickly bombarded him with questions in his own language.

Translation: "No, General. You can't do this! We've already laid down our arms and surrendered!"

Shen Lian: "In my eyes, you are not soldiers, you are beasts, you don't deserve to live in this world." After saying that, Shen Lian turned and left.

Several soldiers quickly grabbed Gorsky and carried him away, the guy yelling as he went. Seeing that Shen Lian was serious, he finally gave in.

Golsky was brought before the prisoners, who launched into a long, angry tirade. Soon, a dozen or so prisoners were chosen.

Shen Lian sneered, "Tell this lieutenant colonel that if I find any scum among them, I'll execute ten of them for every one I find."
