Chapter 100 Sales
Chapter 100 Sales
Back at the incubator, I had just taken a sip of water when I overheard Chen Sui and her mother, Cen Jing, having a long, encrypted conversation. Fortunately, Shanghai and Suzhou are geographically close, so even though I'm a pidgin speaker, I could understand most of it.
"Mom, could you send me some things from our place, like pear syrup candy, butterfly cookies, or something? Buy some nicer stuff, I need to give them as gifts."
After she hung up the phone, Chen Che asked, "Are you still sending something to your apprentice?"
"Hmm," Chen Sui nodded and revealed her plan: "Those ducks and stuff are just Nanjing specialties. I want to make her a big gift package and put some specialties from our hometown in it, and send her a whole big box full of them."
Chen Che smiled helplessly: "You really are something. If someone is even slightly nice to you, you want to give them your whole heart. I'm really worried about what will happen if you get scammed later."
Chen Sui pursed her lips, returning the favor in kind: "I'm not stupid. They went to the trouble of queuing up and having the owner pack it up for them. If I don't prepare something nice for them, wouldn't I be letting them down?"
Interpersonal relationships require give and take to last.
Chen Che thought for a moment, then said to Chen Sui, "Wait for me," and turned to leave.
"What's wrong? Where are you going?" Chen Sui asked casually, though she had no say in what Chen Che was doing.
You'll find out soon enough.
After a while, Chen Che reappeared in front of her carrying a bag of things.
"Here you go, send this to your apprentice as well."
When Chen Sui opened the bag, she found several unopened boxes of Jinjin dried tofu.
"Where did this come from?" Chen Sui asked curiously.
"Last time I went home, my mom told me to bring back some local specialties so my roommates could share them and have a taste," Chen Che explained, then continued:
"I told you not to bring so much. This stuff is cloyingly sweet. I don't know who would like it, and sure enough, this much was left over."
"Really? I heard that even a bag of Chinese medicine can't get out of the boys' dormitory," Chen Sui joked.
"Heh, so you can imagine how awful this stuff tastes."
"No way?" Chen Sui originally wanted to open a bag and try it, but then she was a little hesitant. "Fine, my good disciple, you try it for me first."
…………
A few days later, Chen Sui started chatting intimately with her apprentice again while organizing a group meeting at night.
Chen Che leaned closer to the computer and glanced at the apprentice Chen Sui had taken on. The ID of the apprentice was called "Eighty-Year-Old Genius Hua Luo." He smiled helplessly. "You two have personas: one is a 38-year-old divorced woman with a child, and the other is an 80-year-old woman. It really proves the saying, 'Birds of a feather flock together.'"
"My little apprentice, the rabbit head you sent last time was really delicious. The spiciness from your place is definitely something we can't compare to here," Chen Sui praised.
"Hehe, Master, if you like it, I'll send you more next time, and I'll also bring you a few jars of chili sauce. And it's not store-bought, it's homemade by my mom," Hua Luo said with a smile.
"Wow, little apprentice, we're the best of friends in the world! Oh, by the way, did you receive the things I sent you?"
"I received it! It's such a big box, there's so much! Master, the elevator was broken today, I was exhausted from carrying it upstairs," Hua Luo complained.
"Hehe, how does it taste?" Chen Che chuckled twice.
"It's delicious! The candy feels nice in my mouth, and it's also very soothing to the throat when dissolved in water. Thank you, Master!" Hua Luo replied happily.
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she added, "There's this thing called Jinjin Tofu, um... it doesn't really suit my taste, so please don't send it to me anymore."
"...Oh, okay."
Today's car is owned by Hua Luo Hei. Before entering the car, he confidently boasted in the group that today's car was guaranteed to be a hit, and anyone who didn't come would be missing out. Then, people started joining the car very quickly.
After defeating the first boss, everyone glanced at the loot. Hua Luo casually typed in the chat, "Who cares about the first boss when raiding?"
After defeating the second boss, Hua Luo frowned, but remained calm and said there were still three bosses to go, so there was no need to rush.
After defeating the third boss, Hua Luo loudly questioned everyone, "Did you all come here because of the loot? Aren't you here to be with our dearest guild leader?"
After defeating the fourth boss, Hua Luo remained silent. Although her master was the guild leader, she knew that starting today, she would likely be stripped of her right to use the guild's secret stipend, and even Jesus couldn't save her.
After defeating the fifth boss, before even seeing the loot, Hua Luo habitually sighed. But when she looked at the loot, she was surprised to find a simplified external martial arts gauntlet?!
Hua Luo typed an aggressive message in the chat: "Hey haters, speak up!"
The group members immediately distanced themselves from their earlier statements, saying they had never spoken ill of Hua Luo as a black person.
However, on the other hand, the simplified equipment is limited to internal or external martial arts sects. Today's batch has more internal martial arts sects and fewer external martial arts sects.
With few people bidding, it likely means the equipment won't fetch a high price, not to mention that Chen Sui's group has its own rules, and the starting bid for the equipment isn't high either.
JX3 is, after all, modeled after World of Warcraft, and many raid leaders have adopted the "Pinduoduo" mechanism from World of Warcraft raid initiation, also known as "forced insertion based on priority."
If a rare item drops and no one wants it, the raid leader sets a base price. All usable classes roll for it. The player with the lowest score either buys the item or deposits money to deduct from the base price, allowing the remaining players to roll again. This cycle continues until the item is sold or the cost is split among everyone.
However, this is somewhat of a forced sale, so it's universally disliked in any MMO game, and of course, it doesn't exist in Chen Sui's game.
"Hey, it's not easy to get a top-tier piece of equipment, raid leader, you should at least promote it a bit," a raid member said in the chat.
While forced buying and selling is not feasible, promotion is still necessary.
"This..." Chen Sui pursed her lips somewhat awkwardly. She really couldn't think of any words to give instructions or sell equipment.
"Um... it's not easy to get a rare piece of equipment, and this one has really good stats, everyone try your best to bid..."
Chen Sui thought for a long time before finally managing to squeeze out these few words.
"Commander, you might as well not say anything."
"Hehe." Chen Sui chuckled twice, pretending not to see.
At this moment, Chen Che walked over and said, "Squad leader, how about I help you with your sales pitch?"
"Huh? You're coming... Okay." Chen Sui thought for a moment and agreed.
Seeing her worried expression, Chen Che smiled and said, "I was also a guild leader in the other game. Let me show you my skills."
Chen Che put on the headset and, as usual, first gave a couple of test calls: "Hello, everyone, can you hear me?"
A clear, youthful voice rang out, and the chat channel instantly became lively.
"Holy crap, there's a guy here too, who's he?"
"Ahem, I'm the auction assistant for the guild leader." Chen Che said this simple opening line, then cleared his throat and began promoting the equipment:
"Family members, family members, imagine if you bid on this piece of equipment and it instantly increases your damage by 10%. What does that mean? You'll be in the top tier for raiding next season, and you might even have a place in the top five raid groups."
"Then, once you join a top-tier guild, you can use your amazing skills and high DPS to attract all sorts of rich and beautiful women in the guild, have a passionate romance, move into their mansion, have ten or eight kids, and reach the pinnacle of life."
"And it all starts with you taking a picture of this minimalist hand care product right now."
The chat window fell silent; apparently, everyone was stunned by their own words.
Chen Che nodded in satisfaction, but after a while, no one raised the price, which made him seem a bit foolish.
If that rich guy named Chunqing Zixia were here, even though he's a Qi Pure, he'd probably still buy that external martial arts equipment without hesitation.
Seeing that no one wanted it and they were about to give up, Brother CeT, who had been silent until now, suddenly said in the chat: "I'll offer 50,000."
