A commotion arose outside the door, and Pei Yan told everyone to be quiet while he went out to investigate. Fang Xiaoxiao and the others had no choice but to stay inside.
Pei Yan went outside and saw a group of soldiers knocking on doors from house to house. One soldier walked up to him aggressively and asked loudly, "Have you seen a suspicious man?"
Pei Yan remained calm, shaking his head to indicate that he did not know. Then he said slowly, "This is the residence of the Chief Justice. Aren't you afraid of losing your heads for being so insolent?"
Upon hearing this, the officer burst into loud laughter, his face full of disdain: "You? You dare to claim this is the residence of the Chief Justice? You truly don't know your place!"
Pei Yan's gaze turned cold as he stared directly at the soldier and said, "I think you're blind! I'll put it this way: if this really is the residence of the Chief Justice, what will you do then?"
The officer replied with a mocking smile, "If this really is the residence of the Chief Justice, I'll kneel down and kowtow to you on the spot, calling you grandpa! But if you're lying, hmph, you can expect to go to jail!"
Pei Yan sneered: "Fine! You said it yourself, and everyone here can testify to it!"
At this moment, the officer in charge of the troops walked over and shouted, "What's all the noise about?"
The officer quickly embellished the story and recounted the events.
The officer in charge frowned, looked Pei Yan up and down, and said suspiciously, "You keep saying this is the residence of the Chief Justice, but do you have any evidence?"

The officers and soldiers slunk away, while the surrounding people applauded and cheered.
After driving away the soldiers, Pei Yan had just closed the door when a masked man covered in blood appeared in the courtyard. Fang Xiao and the others, seeing the door closed, all came out of the small house.
Fang Xiaoxiao immediately recognized the masked man as the mysterious man who had saved the three of them before—the bodyguard of Madam Lin. Fang Xiaoxiao quickly stepped forward to support the man and anxiously asked, "What happened?"
The man managed to utter a few words: "Madam is in danger." Then he fainted.

If they acted rashly to rescue them, it might put everyone in a desperate situation. But Madam Lin had been kind to them in the past, and they would feel uneasy if they just watched them die.
Fang Xiaoxiao paced back and forth in the room, carefully analyzing the current situation. She felt that the first thing to do was to find out who had arrested Madam Lin, where she was being held, and what their purpose was.
"This mysterious man said Madam Lin was in danger, but he himself is injured like this. He must be very powerful," Fang Xiaoxiao muttered to herself.
"We can't just sit here and wait to die; we have to find a way to get more information." Fang Xiaoxiao stopped and looked at everyone with a determined gaze.
"Perhaps we can start by examining Mrs. Lin's interpersonal relationships and find out who she has recently had conflicts with," Fang Xiaoxiao continued.
Everyone nodded in agreement and decided to start the investigation from this angle.
At this moment, the unconscious man let out a painful groan. Fang Xiaoxiao rushed over to check on him, her anxiety growing as she tried to rescue Madam Lin as soon as possible.
