The socially awkward villain's furry superpower

Chapter 119 Sapling

Chapter 119 Sapling

She hid behind her older sister Sienna's legs, which looked quite intimidating to the others.

There was one who was quite big, with bear ears and a bright smile on his face. There was another tall one with shrewd eyes who looked rather intimidating. The other three were running around everywhere, not behaving properly.

She knew they were all her sisters, which meant they shouldn't be too bad, but... but she worried they wouldn't see her the same way.

What if they think she's too weak? Or that she's ugly, not strong enough, or that they'll laugh at her if she says something?

Sienna looked down and glanced around, then met her gaze for a brief moment.

She immediately felt her face burning and quickly buried her face in Sienna's legs.

Sienna looks so intelligent, confident, and charming; someone as eloquent as Sienna could never understand what she's thinking.

“Alright,” Sienna said, “how about we go by age… or at least by the order in which they were summoned? That means you go first, Teddy.”

The girl with bear ears, Teddy, puffed out her chest. "My name is Teddy, and I'm the most powerful of all my owner sisters. I can turn into a bear, I can eat people, and... Boss, what should we say?"

Sienna gave a soft hum. "I'd like to tell you your name, your hobbies, and perhaps what you want to do in the future."

“Oh, okay,” Teddy said. “My hobbies are sleeping and being a communist. My dream is to beat up a bunch of heroes and end the fierce competition of capitalism.”

Teddy paused, glanced to the side as if thinking, then grinned. "Yes, that's it."

“It’s my turn next,” said her tallest sister (besides Sienna, who is very tall). “My name is Athena. My hobbies are reading, making fun of Teddy, and driving people crazy. My dream is to make Sienna proud of me.”

She nodded toward Sienna's legs. It certainly sounded like a beautiful dream.

Athena and Teddy started arguing, and she unconsciously shrank back. They were both so loud and so confident.

“I’m Trinity!” the other three said in unison. “My hobbies are eating garbage and stealing—no, I can’t steal, because that would make Sienna angry. My dream is to own a garbage truck company.”

Sienna seemed surprised by the last sentence. "You want to own a garbage truck company? I... well, that's interesting. I didn't know you had this idea."

“That’s right, I can live in the landfill with the other garbage truck drivers!” Trinity cheered.

“I understand,” Sienna sighed, then looked down. “Your turn. Don’t be afraid, your sisters will listen carefully, they won’t laugh at you, right, Teddy, Athena?”

The two people who were called out immediately stood up straight, stopped arguing, and took a few steps back.

She moved away from behind Sienna, but immediately regretted it; so many eyes were on her. What if she messed up?

What if she said something and they would remember her embarrassing words forever? Her breathing became a little rapid, and she felt her hair sticking to her forehead.

“Ah,” she whispered.

Sienna crouched down beside her. "It's alright," Sienna said.

Sienna carefully reached out and placed her hand on her head; it felt so good. "Don't worry, okay? We're all family here."

Your sisters might be a little noisy, but they're not mean, really. If anyone makes you too stressed, just tell me, okay?

Her cheeks felt warm.

She truly is the luckiest little sister in the world, having such a confident and cool Sienna.

“My name… I don’t have a name yet. Hmm. I don’t… I think my hobby might be making things. My dream.” She paused, swallowed, then clenched her fists and closed her eyes, making it easier to say what followed. “My dream is to be as confident as Sienna!”

“This is…a very beautiful dream,” Sienna said. “I believe you will soon…achieve it.”

She sniffed, a little agitated, but having just met her sisters, she didn't want to burst into tears in front of them. Sienna believed her!

"So, what special ability do you have?" Teddy asked. "My special ability is to turn into a bear."

“Ah,” she said, “I… well, I can repair and make things.”

“Wow,” Sienna said, “Can you make new things, or rather, what are the limitations of your abilities?”

She smiled, but still didn't quite dare to look Sienna in the eye. "As long as I have the materials, I feel like I can make almost anything."

It's true, she has so many ideas! She's actually eager to get started, but this room doesn't seem to be the right place for it.

And... and it would be terrible if she never had the chance to show Sienna her skills!

“I can’t wait to see what you can do,” Sienna said.

“Can you make a super toaster?” Trinity asked.

She blinked. "I think it's possible. I need a toaster and some other tools."

“I have a toaster!” one of Trinity exclaimed. She ran to the bathroom and returned a moment later carrying a toaster, holding it above her head. “This is Mr. Toaster; it can toast bread. Can you make it waterproof?”

Mr. Toaster is just an ordinary toaster with a pair of plastic fake eyes stuck on it.

“Oh, okay,” she said.

“Before we do all that,” Sienna said. She looked at Mr. Toaster, then at the bathroom door. “Perhaps we should think of a name for you.”

“Beverly,” Teddy suggested.

“That’s a stupid name,” Athena said. “Besides, she’s a beaver, not a bear.”

“I’m not stupid, you’re the stupid one. If you think it’s stupid, then think of something better,” Teddy said.

Sienna sighed. "Girls, stop arguing. Besides... I don't think Beverly is... a good fit."

She shook her head. She didn't want to be called that name.

“I’ve got a few names in mind,” Trinity said. She crept under the bed, leaving only her bottom sticking out. Her tail wagged, and then she crawled out, clutching a bunch of wallets.

One fell to the ground, and Trinity picked up the other, looking at its contents. "How about you call him Richard Green?"

“Hmm,” she said.

“Trinity,” Sienna said.

“Then… what about Astor Card?” She tossed aside the purse in her hand and picked up another. “Or you could call him Kendrick Westfield.”

Look, his nose is awful; you could replace him. Your nose is much better looking than his.

"Oh my god, I have to call so many people," Sienna muttered to herself.

Athena snorted. "How about that thing printed on her clothes?"

Everyone turned to look at her. With so many eyes staring at her, she felt her ears start to burn again.

She looked down. Her lab coat was open in the front because she wasn't handling hazardous chemicals; underneath, she was wearing denim overalls and a T-shirt.

She pulled her T-shirt up, revealing a maple leaf pattern drawn on it, emerging from a log. "This—this?"

“Maple Leaf,” Sienna said, “it’s a lovely name.”

Her face turned even redder. "I...I don't mind having this name. It's nice to have a cute name."

Sienna clapped her hands. "Great! If you like the name, then it's settled. Maple Leaf Isabella. It's a nice name."

She—that is, Maple Leaf—nodded. “Okay. Thank you,” she said.

“Welcome to this family,” Sienna said. “We’re a bit noisy, and some of us might be a little crazy, but overall, I think we’re doing pretty well.”

“That’s right,” Teddy said. “Let’s give him a bear hug!”

Maple Leaf let out a shriek, and Teddy jumped up and hugged her tightly. Athena, not to be outdone, strode over and hugged her from the other side as well.

Then Trinity laughed and pounced on them, pinning them down until Maple Leaf was worried she was going to suffocate.

Finally, Sienna sighed helplessly, walked over, and stretched out her long arms to pull them all into her embrace.

The maple leaves didn't know what to think.

Her ears and cheeks were burning, which was really embarrassing, but it also felt warm and wonderful. Although Teddy's knees were all hard and stiff, Athena's bones were quite painful to the touch.

“Thank you—thank you everyone,” Maple Leaf said. Not sure if the others could hear her, she added, “I hope I fit in well.”

“Yes, of course,” Teddy said. “Could you make me a gun?”

“No,” Sienna said. The hug ended, and Sienna wagged her finger at Teddy. “No guns. Or rather, no weapons or anything like that.”

"Maple Leaf, I...we'll see how your abilities work later, but if your sisters ask you for weapons, just tell them no, understand?"

“Okay—okay,” Maple Leaf said, “I can do it without weapons.” Now there’s a whole category of inventions that could impress Sienna.

She had been hoping to build some giant mechs, but those were clearly weapons.

“Thank you,” Sienna patted Maple Leaf’s head; it felt so good. “Now, let’s tell you what’s going on, shall we?”
