Prime Notebook Computer Review

Apple MacBook Pro represents the near peak of current notebook technology in terms of power, making only a few compromises for the sake of a slim profile and a better battery life. It is capable gaming graphics card, with near desktop power, low weight, bright screen, decent battery life, and sweet looks. The design and build is great. The chassis made by thin but strong aluminum and there are extra features for the paranoid like the motion sensor, which is used to lock up the hard drive in any sudden movement detected. It also have program iAlert that can use to protect your computer from theft. When alarmed, the laptop will start screeching and flash the screen if someone were to pick it up.

The MacBook Pro is not as fast as one might expect from a 2.0GHz Core Duo. The result of benchmark shows that MacBook Pro needs 1 minute 24 seconds to calculate Pi to 2 million digits. It’s about 8 seconds under Dell Inspiron e1505. The MacBook Pro performance is good. It’s fast. It is quick to navigating the web on a fast connection. And it’s only needs two seconds to launch Firefox.

The MacBook Pro keyboard is very nice with great travel for the keys and very useful function keys along the top for brightness and changing the volume. The trackpad is enormous and nice. It also have keys for Apple’s famous backlit keyboard, that is set by default to use the ambient light sensor to come on when it gets dark. One cool feature is the two-finger scroll which is very natural and way better than using that little strip on the side of your trackpad like other laptops have.

The screen is nice with good resolution. This Laptop also integrated by the high quality iSight cam. The horizontal viewing angle on this thing is good but the vertical angle is not quite as good. The screen is amazing for playing games and solid colors on the screen do have a kind of textured look.
The speakers are on the left and right side of keyboard. Bass is not good enough, but for notebook the sound is good.

The Battery life is good with 3 hours life to browse web with half brighness. The Wireless works great with no problems dropping out of strong signal strength.
The notebook is cool when it runs off the battery. But when the notebook is plugged in and everything throttles up it gets very hot. The aluminum chassis acts like a big heatsink soaking up the heat and radiating it out. But it’s not getting hot when playing games. The sound of this laptop is very silent. The X1600 fan only heared in silent room.

This Notebook is cool with small size. Perhaps it’s getting hot when plugged in and boot camp not ready for the masses. The GPU is underlocked and expensive. But this is a very well built laptop with great performance. The battery life is decent and the sound is quiet. Have a high quality web cam and can run Windows XP or OS x. With small size and weight less than other notebooks the MacBook Pro become good choice for everyone.
