Prime Notebook Computer Review

The Acer C314 with Intel Pentium M processor give more than what you expected from a Tablet PC. Acer build it sturdy with silver and black color case. The surface is smooth and the hinges is so strong. The keyboard is ergonomic in design. Its little bit different than other laptop keyboard design with thicker spacebar, but its very responsive and nice to type on. The touchpad below the keyboard is nice with the mouse buttons and 4-way scroll between it. The electromagnetic pen requires no batteries and easy to use.

The Acer C314 powering by Intel Pentium M 2 GHz backed by 1 GB DDR memory and 100 GB hard disk for storage. The performance of the processor is the major reason why you should buy this Tablet PC. Its so fast and have no problem when doing multi tasking. For operating system, the C314 comes with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition installed.

The Acer C314 uses 14.2″ XGA electromagnetic touchscreen with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. Its a nice screen with vibrant color and lightning. For the graphics card, the C314 comes with NVIDIA Go 6200 PCI express GPU. Its fast and impressive. I found no problem when trying to run some games like Need For Speed and GTA.

The heat is a big issue for the C314. After several hours or when doing intensive tasks, the laptop getting hot. Thankfully the fan is so quiet and works well when the temperature rising. But, not like the quiet fan, the C314 speakers is great. Its so clear and give more than you expected from laptop’s speakers. I don’t need some external speakers when playing games or watching movies.

For wireless, this machine comes with Intel Pro Wireless 802.11a/b/g card, plus a built in Bluetooth radio. All of them works well, without lost connections when I used for surfing. The 4-Cell battery will give about 3 hours before recharge. Its average, but some user maybe need more.

Verdict : The Acer C314 is a powerfull Tablet PC. It’s comfortable to use, very connectable and have a good build. The screen is nice and the keyboard is so responsive. Its a top Tablet PC from Acer for the professional or student which is not worrying money.
