Prime Notebook Computer Review

The Asus W7J is a 13.3″ WXGA LCD screen notebook featuring the Intel Core Duo T2400 processor. The design is simple and stylish and its made from a blend of carbon fiber and plastic. The screen is protected by mixture plastic and alumunium alloy, and there is only little flex on the palm rest. The screen is amazing with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and has Color Shine and Crystal Bright last technologies. The screen is little bit small, but you’ll find that the brighness is good with clear and sharp text. As a good additon, above the screen, there is 1.3 MP video camera.

The processor is Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83GHz backed by 1 GB of DDR2 memory. The performance is great for office applications. The GeForce 7400 graphics card although not the best, still enough for me, and the 100 GB hard disk give me a huge storage.
The 6-cell Li-Ion battery give me 3 hours and it is adequate.

This notebook also comes with great keyboard with very responsive keys and almost no flex. The touchpad is also responsive and easy to use but not exceptional. The speakers, which is located in front, is standart notebook speakers with no bass. The fan, inside the notebook, is silent. The only sound come from hard disk and CD-ROM.

The notebook operating system is Windows XP Professional and Asus claim the W7J is capable for next Windows Vista which is I hesitate. The Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 A/B/G miniPCI wireless card also works well and I found no problem with it.

Verdict : The Asus W7J is other Asus best notebook with stylish design and great performance. The battery life is adequate and the screen give a great pleasure although only 13.3″ size. The webcam is a nice addition, and overall this is a notebook for daily office work.
